Looks like they have a lab already set up and a little info on how long it takes to culture.

The RepliCel(TM) Procedure – Simple Yet Powerful – The RepliCel(TM) procedure involves the isolation of dermal sheath cup cells from a small skin biopsy (approximately 4 millimeters in diameter) taken from an area on the back of a patient`s scalp that still grows healthy hair and is resistant to androgen activity. The biopsy is obtained in an operating theatre by a qualified physician.

The incision is then closed with sutures that are removed approximately 12-14 days later. The biopsy is placed in a sample collection kit and shipped in a medical grade shipping container to a current good manufacturing practice (cGMP) compliant laboratory in Austria for cell replication. Upon receipt of the patient skin biopsy, hair follicles are removed by cutting away the skin epithelium and “plucking” the whole hair unit from the surrounding dermal tissue.

The hair follicle bulb, including the follicular dermal sheath cup, is detached from the rest of the hair follicle. The dermal sheath cup cells are isolated and placed in a proprietary culture medium for up to three months, producing millions of new cells. RepliCel`s proprietary culture medium encourages the cells to grow and proliferate.

Once enough cells have been replicated, the cGMP compliant laboratory prepares the patient kit, which is then shipped to the physician for the injection of the cells into the patient. Once injected, it is anticipated that the cells will lead to the formation of new hair follicles and will rejuvenate existing quiescent hair follicles that have been damaged or miniaturized.
