Still working on plucked hairs? This was discussed and experimented over
year ago already, shouldn't we know by now whether this plucked hair
technique is worth trying or not?

There really were only two physicians that ever stated that they were
having any benefits from coating plucked hairs with Acell. One of them is
still promoting that application, while the other one has not said much in
the past two years. Other physicians have tried Acell on plucked hairs,
but no one reported success. Therefore, I would say it was pretty much a
failed attempt.

With Acell, we have seen improved hypo pigmentation in our extraction sites
along with actual follicle regeneration. The most follicle regeneration we
have seen is 64% and the lowest so far was about 25%. This is an on going
study. We hope to really accelerate the data over the next year. As you
know, it takes one or two years to see a patient come back and this occurs
slowly over a span of time. We have quite a few patients that we are still
waiting to evaluate.

One of the things that contributes to FUE hypo pigmentation is the loss of
circulation and we have seen capillaries actually grow back into the FUE
extraction sites with Acell. Also, FUE hypo pigmented extraction sites are
smaller in size or diameter with the use of Acell. Even when follicles are
regenerated, however, we do still tend to see some hypo pigmentation, but
not always. Sometimes the hypo pigmentation disappears. Right now, I
don't know why one site heals so much better than it's neighbor. I also
don't know why some patients do better than others. Part of the reason may
be because I have changed the delivery method several times over the past 3
years. we have also more recently increased the concentration of Acell and
added a "top shot" of Acell at the end of the procedure.

The main thing is that we are seeing some advantages when we use Acell. We
still need to fine tune the process.

Actual follicle regeneration, this is huge, please don't forget to take good pics etc. Are hypo pigmentation and follicle regeneration related? I mean did you see both improvement in pigmentation and follicle regeneration occur hand in hand?

Personally I don't care much about pigmentation, if you can regenerate the donor that alone is good enough for me.
