Dear Doctor,

I would like to know if I am a good candidate for hair transplant. My loss seems to escalating, I am 48 years old. I wear extensions through the back and sides but have done so for many years just for length and fullness, never nothing on top. Now it seems areas of the frontal hair line are disappearing and I am getting a general thinning on top. Styling gives me anxiety because my parts seem very wide and just over all less density on top.

GOALS

Restore the hairline and fill in the thinning areas on the top.

QUESTIONS

1. Am I a good candidate for hair transplant?

2. Which technique would be better suited for me, STRIP or FUE?

3. How many grafts will I need? How soon can I see results?

4. How long will it take AFTER the surgery before I can go out in public without people realizing that I have hair tranpslant done?

5. Do I need to shave any of the recipient and donor site during the procedure?

7. Any side effects or possible complications that I should be aware of?
