Hairnerd 3000 BHT with Dr. Umar - May 2006 - 10 months update
This is what Dr. Umar said abt my case:
Hairnerd” was first introduced to the forum 4 weeks after his BHT some 9 months ago. Please read “Hairnerd’s” self introduction in the following thread of 9 months ago. He has had prior surgeries at other clinics including Plug repair, Strip, FUE and BHT:

Summary of SFET/BHT procedure:
Total # of grafts: 3000
Donor sources: Shoulders and upper back, legs, and chest
Recipient: Mid scalp
Duration: 10 months
“Hairnerd” has been diligent in sending his monthly photo updates for which I thank him.
As stated by “Hairnerd” in his post 9 months ago, he is endowed with very thin caliber hair in both his head and body. He started experiencing BHT growth within a few months of surgery, but the cosmetic effect started emerging at about the 7th month.
At 10 months the cosmetic effect of the 3000 fine caliber hair became manifest as a toppik-like filler effect at the transplanted area of the mid scalp. I have mentioned in the past that certain body hair would produce a filler effect only, in “Hairnerd” we find a very poignant illustration of this phenomenon.
Because all the after photos were provided by “Hairnerd”, I have used only his own preop photos as the before photos for consistency. Thus all the before and after photos were supplied by “Hairnerd”. The operative photos are taken at the clinic.
THE RECIPIENT

10 months later showing toppik like filling of the boxed recipient area:

The recipient area (boxed) show hair growth but more especially, you can see the darkening of the scalp skin in the area, similar to the effect one gets from the use of a concealer like Toppik, couvre etc However, it is hairnerds hair in this instance, hence less likely to wash off…
During Surgery Day 1

Soon After surgery:

10 months later:

The difference is in the body hair quality and quantity used. The two cases, Heliboy/hairnerd are a clear illustration of how BHT providers and patients alike could better taylor expectations based on body hair characteristics going into the surgery.
It also depends on your own body hair characteristics. It is also a good idea to mix in some scalp hair where possible especially in the frontal and mid scalp areas. "Hairnerd" already had sveral scalp hair hair transplant surgeries."
