Case1608 - Hair Transplant Consultation

Sunday, February 18. 2007
Dear Doctor,

I am 30 years old. I have been on Propecia for about 3 years and it has significantly slowed, perhaps even stopped, my loss. I think I am a Norwood 3. My crown is in great shape.

I want to be able to buzz my hair down to grade 1 or 2 should my hairloss progress too far. So I am more inclined to have FUE/FIT done, I am prepared to see what Triclosure can offer too.

My dad at 65 is probably a Norwood 6. I have an uncle on my mothers side who is probably a Norwood 5.

Ideally I would like a procedure that would fill in the receded bits. Although there is some diffuse loss on the top of my head the thickness is fine at the moment.

My hair is straight and thick.

Questions:

1. Based on the pics, am I a good candidate for hair transplant?

2. How many grafts will I need, can this be done in one session?

3. Will the grafts stand out and look odd if I continue to lose my existing hair?

4. What about permanent shock loss? Do I need to worry about that?

5. Do I need to shave my donor site or any part of the recipient site for the procedure?

6. What about Triclosure technique? Is this good enough for me to buzz my hair down to a 1 or 2 if I choose to one day?

7. What would be the approximate cost? Under STRIP and FUE/FIT?

8. How soon can I return to work without people realizing that I have hair transplant done?

Any advice you can give would be greatly appreciated.
