Case1694 - Hair Transplant Consultation

Tuesday, March 27. 2007
Dear Doctor,

I am 36 years old. I had 2 strip procedures about 10 years ago but decided i couldn't get the density i wanted. I currently wear a hairpiece and have been pleased with the combo of my hairline and the piece sitting behind it.

GOALS

My hairline is getting really thin and I wish to thicken it through transplantation. I wear my hair long and pulled back.

My questions are:

1) to thicken my hairline should i do strip or fue? which will look more natural? I am kinda leaning towards fue after seeing some results and am not looking forward to another linear scar.

2) for the donor area can we shave from the middle of my head down as opposed to shaving from the bottom up? (this way my hairpiece will cover up any shaved areas). I know it is done the latter way normally but i still have alot of donor hair and the amount of it i need transplanted to fill in my hairline is not substantial.

3) How many grafts will I need approximately?

4) What is the cost?

5) How soon can I put my hairpiece on after the procedure? Do I have to wait days before I can put it back on?

6) If I am going to do this via STRIP, can you take out or revise my existing scar while extracting the donor follicles?
