Case 1636 - Hair Transplant Consultation

Saturday, March 31. 2007

Doctor,

I am 31 years old, had several STRIP transplants before. Strip scars have stretched and donor site has been severely depleted.

As for the recipient area, I have minor plugs as well as ridging/cobblestoning on a small area on my left temple. It is not highly visible but if you run your fingers through my hair you will feel it.

GOALS

I am NOT looking to repair the donor site. I suppose I can just leave the donor site as is for the time being. At this point, I only wish to frame my face and restore the frontal 1/3 so that it looks more natural when people are looking directly at me.

QUESTIONS

1) How many grafts will I need to accomplish my goals?

2) What would be a realistic goal for me? Do you recommend that I go for the "less-is-more" look with light density throughout the top and the front or should I concentrate on restoring the hairline and the frontal 1/3?

3) Do I have to schedule multiple visits to your clinic or can everything be done in one trip?

4) What do you think of the sides and the back of my head? Can I spare any donor follicles from these areas?

5) I have minor plugs and ridging in certain areas of the recipient site. What would be the least invasive way to correct these problems? Can we simply use single grafts to camouflage these areas ?

6) I have included pictures of my chest and abdominal areas. How many body hairs do you think I can spare ?

7) What about leg hairs? Are they a viable option and will they produce cosmetically acceptable results?

8-) What is the approximate cost?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.
