Hairnerd 4 weeks after 3000 BHT with Dr. Umar - May 2006

Monday, October 1. 2007

Hello. I have been a watcher of this site for a few years now, but this is my first post. I'll give a brief rundown of my history. I am 36 and started losing my hair at 18. I got some pluggy work done by a local doctor in 1993 and it looked horrible. I wore a hat all the time. I got a few more procedures done with this doctor in the hopes that it would improve the situation. It did not. Since then, I went to Australia to see Dr.s Woods and Campbell to repair the plugginess.(1200 grafts) Next I went to Dr. Cole for a strip procedure.(2000 grafts) And a little over a year ago, I went to Dr. Jones in Canada.( 2000 Grafts, strip and BHT) I have very fine hair. It takes a lot more work to get density with fine hair as you might have noticed around this forum and other places. I also wanted to go with BHT only. I really don't think my donor areas on my head can be thinned any more. Anyway, I went to see Dr. Umar April 4-8 for 3000 BHT. Everything is going as expected. The scabs on my head usually shed around the 7th or 8th day. The donors areas are still healing, but they will be healed soon. There is lots of stubble on my head. I always have a bit of shedding after a procedure. I usually really start to see results around the 7th month.( at least thats what has happened with my prior procedures). I will keep sending update photos. More to come!

Here Dr. Umar said:

"I thank Hairnerd for being forthcoming with timely updates.

But for the transplants Hairnerd has thus far received, he would be approacching a NW6 state. It is good to note that his entire surgical experience has been a satisfactory one thus far with the exception of his very first plug type HT.

As already mentioned by Hairnerd, his scalp hair is what many would consider a disadvantage because of its thin caliber. This time around he opts to continue his hair restoration journey by using body hair exclusively.

He hopes to proceed in the following steps:

1. Address the thin area of the mid scalp
2. Address the crown
3. Revisit the hair line if donor supply warrants.

In this first visit, 3000 BHT grafts were transplanted from his chest, legs, shoulders, and armpits to his mid scalp.

Mid scalp before: Please not the fine nature of native scalp hair:

At 4weeks: Hairnerd reports new stubbles emerging at this early stage already

Updates would be provided in subsequent weeks and months."
