Dr. Lee's Minoxidil - Reliable? (Topicals & Shampoos)

I've been thinking about switching from Rogaine foam to one of Dr. Lee's minoxidil formulas (probably the 12.5% solution). Is he trust-worthy?

Dr. Lee's Minoxidil - Reliable?

I've looked into this extensivley myself, wanting to upgrade to dr. lee's 12% or 15% minoxidil. I personaly saw that there are mixed reviews, some say they swear by better results and some say no difference at all. Try it for 8 months and draw a conclusion for yourself.

As far as whether dr. lee is trustworthy or not, I would say he definetly is. He's spoken very highly of everywhere. And he responds to any email you send him.

Why do you want to switch anyway? How long have u been on the foam and/or liquid for?

I've recently switched to Dut and have gotten excellent results, and I'm wondering if I can improve those results even more by increasing the minox dose. I would only use it at night and continue to do foam in the morning.

As far as Dr. Lee is concerned, I just want to make sure that I'm actually getting a 12% dose.

Glad to hear you're impressed with dut so far.

You have nothing to worry about with Dr Lee's products not being legit. If it sais 12.5% then rest assure it's 12.5%.

I don't know what your regime is like, but if you really want to maximize your benefits have you thought of adding nizoral 2%? I think you'd see more benefit with this rather than increasing minox percentage. Or you can do both!

That's good to hear about Dr. Lee.

I've been on Dut for about 3 months, and the results have been very good, though I am having some memory issues, so we'll see if I can stay on it. I do use a 2% Nizoral wash.

Dr. Lee's Minoxidil - Reliable?

How effective is DUT across the board - do most people get good results from it?
How good is it compared to propecia?

Cheers

Dan

I've been on finasteride for 10 years. I've recently switched to Dut, and I've had good results. However, it has noticeably affected my memory recall, so I'll being going back to fin as soon as I finish my current Dut px.

How can you tell it's effected your memory? I'd like to know if it's effected mine and I just can't tell!

But so far, knock on wood, I've no sides to be concerned about. I can pull and tug on my hair and not a strand will come out. Vast thickening, and regrowth in my crown.

I love you dut, will you marry me?

....happy

Don't know if you're being facetious, but I've experienced noticeable difficulty recalling vocabulary, names of people, short-term events, etc. As I have an excellent, near-photographic memory, It is very, very obvious. I began taking Ambien at the same time I started Dut (which is when the memory loss began), but I've since gotten off that (going on 3 weeks) and the memory difficulty has worsened. As I don't take any other drugs besides ketoconazole (which I have been taking for years in the form of 2% Nizoral - a minor systematic dose) and minox (5% Rogain for years), am young and healthy and have no other symptoms, it could only be the Dut. As I understand it, one of the types of andros that Dut suppresses does exist in the brain, and as such could affect memory.

fckhrls, I would really see a doctor if I were you. Ambien can severely damage one's thinking ability and erase TOTAL episodes from one's memory. I don't think 3 weeks is enough to think Ambien's side effects have worn off. Really see a doctor, I've heard monsterly bad stories about Ambien. There are many people who've been off for up to 8 months and still suffer from memory loss. No recollection of conversations, sex with their spouses, watching a movie, etc. I don't think dut is doing this to you.

Look at this site, I hope it's enough for you to see a doctor about your symptoms..

Thanks for the info. Some have experienced memory issues while on Dut as well, and while there are no drug interaction warnings concerning both drugs (there is one for Ambien and Nizoral), perhaps the two together intensified the effect. I was taking a very strong dose (2x the recommended dose) for about 6 months, so it is quite possible that I am still experiencing sides from it. I did not, however, encounter the most common problem, which is sleep-walking. Other than the memory issue, it was very effective. Hopefully, things will improve over the next couple of weeks and I can rule out Dut as the cause, as I'd hate to have to stop taking it.

type 1 alpha five reductase (of which dutasteride is supposed to inhibit roughly 51% of at .5 mgs a day) is indeed located in the brain.

You'd still have about half of it at that dosage theoretically, which would be more than a woman would have. That enzyme might do more in the brain than just convert T to DHT though..........

Ive read of some guys complaining of "brain fog" on dutasteride on these forums before.

We *have* a biological precendent of men who have no alpha five type 2 enzyme in nature (pseudohermaphrodites), and post-puberty they have normal lives by all accounts, so finasteride should be relatively safe.

One really might stick to just .5 mgs a day of dutasteride and no more than that IMO. That ought to be plenty if they are going to take that drug.
