My Full Epic Story; 2 years & 2000 FUE Dr. Alvi Armani grafts later ... PART1 (Hair Transplant)

Good Morning Fellow Posters & Lurkers...

My name for now is "Man of Mystery" or "MOM" (Blast!!!! I really didn't see that coming !!!!), and this is my FULL detailed story about my hair transplant experience with the Alvi Armani organization. it is long, and in many ways epic that if made into a Hollywood film, no one would probably show up, however at least it would be detailed!

I had my procedure done almost 2 years ago and I have waited to accumulate my thoughts, my experiences, real post op and post dealings with Alvi Armani data, and most importantly ... RESULTS. The REAL RESULTS...

Frankly I am very exited to begin interacting with the community and here is my story and my intro... thank you very much ...

BTW ... I have a website that I'm building with tons of before, after, and during photos... I'll let everyone know when it's done!!!!

August 10, 2007 was the date that changed my life. August 10, 2007 was the date that I had my 2000 grafts in the form of a FUE procedure done in Toronto with Dr. Alvi Armani.

It’s a day that I will NEVER forget for the rest of my life.

I have been a lurker on these forums for a while now because I wanted to have my complete results from the procedure to both report and show you …

So here I am, 2 years later, and here is my story …

I am currently 27 years old (turning 28) and I am an electronic music producer that until recently have been in hiding making only remixes for very well known artists and even producing a vast majority of the electronic hits you all know and love (or hate ) and then selling them to artists whom then consequently own them and promote them as their own.

I also own (it recently completely burned down in a five alarm fire (I’m rebuilding it as we speak)) a very forward thinking recording facility that has given opportunities to beginning bands that couldn’t afford the high end/high priced studios. And within those doors, I have worked on some of the most popular Hollywood films, Videogames and Music projects that you all know and love (or hate )

For the beginning part of my career I was only focused on making music for clients and selling the complete licenses and not releasing these songs that I created and/or remixed (which eventually in many cases became quite popular songs) under my own name because frankly it was easier and I wasn’t completely confident in my appearance. Hence releasing it all under my own name, having to promote the music, tour and essentially be the face of these tracks wasn’t something I was comfortable nor confident with at the time.

I have also modeled for quite some time however in the last little while of my modeling days, all of my shoots that I was called in for were all body shots and underware ads, and yet I couldn’t figure out why? It was like I was almost in complete denial.

At one point in early 2007 I started to accept that I was losing my hair… I was completely destroyed mentally. I have no hair loss in my family whatsoever, live a copmpletely healthy lifestyle, eat well, train 5 days a week in the evening and run/rollerblade 6 days a week in the morning to begin my day and I love life to its absolute fullest.

I surround myself with financially and mentally successful and content human beings that I continually learn more and more from everyday, I have a girlfriend that I love with all my heart and dedicate my entire existence to, I have 3 people whom earn a very decent living as a result of my business (at the studio I don’t like the term “employee”) and who I adore to take care of provide them a vehicle to earn a living doing what they love… So what gives???

I guess for a while I couldn’t even fathom how something like that could happen to me???!!! I experienced the same exact feeling when a dear friend and creative partner on a few projects of 40 years old (RIP Keith) died of a heart attack. Perfect health, never smoked, didn’t drink, young daughter and married, but he dies???? I couldn’t understand his death as much as I couldn’t understand what was happening to my hair.

So I started researching online…

I found the usual things people always find first; Rogaine/Minoxodil, the magic combs, creams, shampoos, witch potions, toe nails extracted from real unicorns, you know… the usual…

Then I started researching about hair transplants, because I didn’t like those temporary solutions or products that if ceased, you would lose the results … I wanted something permanent. But the funny thing is all I had as a reference point for transplants was that Russian Mob character in “Be Cool” which looked like braided doll hair and frankly that was a was a frightening thought!

Either way … I typed in something along the lines of best hair transplant and low and behold I came across the Alvi Armani website, and they had a contact in my city!!! JACKPOT!!! (I had no clue as to where clients could possibly exist… LA? New York? … No freakin clue…)

Now comes the good stuff … I was so embaressed to call (as if the people answering the phone DON’T know why you are calling right? :cool so my first call I actually used a very heavy foreign accent and a fake name as to not be potentially recognized (what’s the chances of you knowing someone in a hair transplant clinic :satisfied…

Well… as a first impression on the first number I called I have to say that the representative that I spoke with (Chad) was phenomenal… He made me feel like what I was experiencing was completely ok, that no questions were stupid questions and not to feel embarrassed on any level.

That inspired me to have a meeting with him… So I booked one. And I was still a bit embaressed to go into the clinic (of course in case a hot secretary works there, I mean this is cosmetic no? :Wow So Chad made a in house visit and that was the beginning of the end for me…

I asked a MILLLION QUESTIONS to the point where my first meeting was in excess of 2 hrs and he was nothing short of understanding, helping, patient, quite comforting and VERY CONFIDENT in his answers and completely confident in the Dr whom he worked for.

Now, please don’t be mislead, I did NOT SHOP AROUND. So my time on here will be to learn from your experiences with other doctors and other results, and I cannot in ANY WAY nor will bash any other doctor nor will I say that Dr Armani is the BEST. But what I can so is give you a very detailed example as to the way I was treated, my experience and my results.

Moving on … I met Chad at least a half a dozen times more before I booked and frankly I think I was above average in terms of closing time (over 7 months) for multiple reasons.

1) It was pricey; I mean to spend in the double digits of thousands of dollars no matter what your income level is (unless you are Mr and Mrs Gates :hehe is not something you do everyday. I mean, the second largest purchase the average person will make in their lifetime is a car, and this is probably the next in line so I took quite a while to think about it and as well whether to opt for the financing option rather than cash.

2) I needed to justify the procedure to myself, I mean the thing that I learned AFTER this procedure is that my girlfriend didn’t even see why I wanted to get it and frankly after my surgery I was involved in many discussions with females that said that have NO PROBLEM AT ALL with balding men as they see it as very manly. It shows that you are a real man, a growing real man (later on this later btw I have some seriously interesting finds on some studies about female and male attraction!!!!), but it was mostly an investment in myself, to myself. Could I put a price on my own confidence? Was it necessary? Why do I need hair to be confident? Etc…

3) I needed to understand and FULLY EVALUATE the time loss from my work and lifestyle with the post procedure recovery time.

4) I would not be able to train which to some may sound silly but it is a HUGE part of my mental and physical strength and well being.

5) The pain; I have been kickboxing since I was 8 and I have taken full force blows by 250 lbs monsters, and I have trained myself to absorb it, shake it off and proceed to make him pay… but needles? Blood? Doctors? White coats? Knives? Cutting my head? Inflated eyes and face? I AM TERRIFIED OF THAT !!!!

So essentially and to slightly speed up my story, after I evaluated all of those questions, I opted to go for it!!!!

In case you are wondering why I didn’t shop around … these are MY PERSONAL REASONS …

I hate shopping around to negotiate for a price, I mean the service to date has been phenomenal and Chad has always been there for me, so what’s the alternative? Thanks for your hours/ months of help, kindness, professionalism, patience and advice but I found another doctor? Sure I guess you can and have the right to do that … but not me. Im Greek, and a firm old school believer in respect/business/family values and relationships, I believe that if business/life was as it was back in the day, the world would be a better place by leaps and bounds. Today, everyone shops every single penny and doesn’t value service nearly as much as we used to.

I already built a relationship with The Armani organization, and I felt based on the service that I had received to date, that they understood my needs and my goals and shopping was completely redundant for me. It’s kind of like when to call Rogers and you have to repeat the same story to 4 different representatives! I hate that!!!!

I also factored in my time as well, I mean my time in life and business is very valuable and frankly easily accountable for. I didn’t have any interest to take more of my time to meet different reps, different companies, more meetings, more discussions … it would mean more time lost for me and frankly Dr Armani’s website shows incredible results so why bother… its all 10’s so far… GIDDIUP !!!!

And lastly, because I felt a personal relation to Dr Armani’s company. In my personal business whether I earn you as a client in studio or not … the experience is the same all the time. Warm, welcoming, inviting and kind all entrenched in a huge confidence in our work that doesn’t cross into arrogance… and I felt that exact feeling with Dr Armani. Confident enough to give me EAXACTLY WHAT I WANT and deliver what he promises, but not too cocky to give off the type of vibe of … “It’s ok if you don’t chose us, I don’t need your business anyway”

So I called Chad back with my decision and GIDDIUP !!!

Slashed...

Naw man no prize, its just cool and I appreciate anything and everything in life.

When u loose everything in life and u get it back, you realize that while you were down that it was the small things that kept you going, fighting and positive.

And well being nominated for something in my opinion deserves a thank you on my part, no matter how insignificant to some.

Cheers

@ Man of Mystery

The REOPENING OF MY THREAD & My NOMINATION for BEST TRANSPLANT; Thank you to all

Hey Everyone ...

Let me just start the REOPENING Of my thread with a thank you ... Recently I have been nomiated for the award for BEST HAIR TRANSPLANT. And I quote, "Credits and recognition are given to hairline design, artistic skills, yield, temples angle, age appropriateness, and overall aesthetic results" (HAIR SITE).

This was a complete shock and very much appreciated. As most of you know, my journey was an emotional one, and my personal and financial success came as a DIRECT RESULT of the way I felt about who I saw in the mirror and the way I felt like my entire soul had been completely reset.

A successful HT is more than just a procedure and an after picture. Its the way one feels inside. Its the way your smile changes, your outlook on life, the way things smell and sound and above all, the way you feel about how there are NO LIMITS to your personal and financial success.

I am completely aware that this strength can come from inside even without an HT (thats something that should go without saying... that you dont need a HT to change your life), but some people including myself, lost a piece of their soul with MPB, a piece of my spark, that thing about me that makes me me!

And an HT helped remedy that.

Everyone who I have spoken with both online and on the phone have been inspirations. It is my pleasure to have helped and continue to help some of you who may have unanswered questions about an HT that you just cant get from a sales rep (no matter how good you were chad!:-P ), there is that after feeling that a HT recipient gets and feels that is what has made this thread so popular... That feeling that you get knowing that very soon, you will be undergoing a major life transformation.

After receiving an overwhelming number of questions via pm/email I have decided to return to this original post to answer all of your questions in a more timly manner.

I wanted to start by thanking everyone for all their positive comments and for the nomination, I also would like to remind everyone that my website with MANY MORE BEFORE, PRE OP, POST OP and AFTER PICTURES, is almost complete.

I havent had internet access for about 2 weeks because of damage to my area during a recent surplus of storms.

I am very grateful for the positivity that you all have for one another as a community and it is for that very reason, that we all take very valuable time out of our days to contribite to this forum.

So...

Upwards and onwards!...

Thank you for the nomination, and stay tuned for my complete website!!!!!

Cheers!

MoM

my intention is not to purposely make the person feel bad, and I do not think a person happy with his transplant, as MOM is, Sits around worrying about what I think about .

My intention in the posts with the guys using up all the grafts is to offer an opposing view.
99 percent of the responses to successes like his look at the before and after and say HEY LOOKS FANTASTIC, CONGRATS,
they dont consider what might happen in the future

a lot of guys on the board are considering transplants and trying to make up their minds. Not all have had them already

I realize most wont listen to what I say anyways, but I have a right to my opinion.

The only reason that it gets so overblown, is once i posted my opinion on MOMs results, 1000 guys chime in with their conspiracy theories, etc,

if nobody had responded to my post, it would have just sat there and blown away with the wind

Even when I posted a major reason for my skepticism, the doctor who had
been highly respected in Denver who quit the profession in disgust and sent me
a letter detailing the reasons why, which was that most of his patients from 10 yrs ago had lost so much hair that he could not help them at this point. and at the time of the procedure they had looked fantastic..

this is a true story

so MOM comes on and says that this surgeon BOTCHED the surgeries, which is totally ludicrous, he never even saw any of the guys work. that kind of BS
is worse than any statments I have made. I do not come on the board saying this doc is a bad doc, I say that I am sure the patient pushes the doc to have such a thick hairline. But I also think there are docs out there who certainly would not discourage a guy from getting a very thick frontal hairline and using up 40 percent of his grafts in the process.

You really cannot blame the doc, or the patient solely. It seems like they both are happy because the result looks so amazing.

All i have stated in my posts is, if these guys later go to nw6 or 7 they are totally screwed and will be no way able to fix the future balding with transplants, and will be forced to shave their heads to avoid looking odd

this is a fact
I know most guys want to believe it will never happen to them , but
i feel 99 percent of posters choose to wear blinders to this possibility.

"A bald person is in no way a lesser person then a guy with a great head of hair"

Its so true but actually very hard to realise that sometimes.. baldness seems to be a major confidence destroyer & its very easy to think negative..

Fair play to MOM for sharing his detailed reasons & thought process behind his procedure on here..
It would be nice to see a few more really detailed threads like this.

»

» However , if guys on the board want to disagree with that premise, they

»

I think we all agree Hanging, hair does not make you the person you are. And of course there are many many successfull men out there who have thinning or have lost their hair. A bald person is in no way a lesser person then a guy with a great head of hair.

BUT, if thinning hair bothers someone, and that person has the funds to have it fixed with a procedure, such as MAN OF MYSTERY then more power to him.

Instead of sulking about his hairloss, instead of thinking "Why me", he took initiative and had his hair restored. He looks great.

I understand about the inner confidence thing with hair,

perhaps the guys who succeed despite being bald as a cueball, have some other qualities that far outweigh their appearance, they have a personality, and vigor , perhaps a commanding voice, voice plays a bigger part of commanding respect than most people realize.

Try looking at a movie and see who they chose to play a general or a colonel in the military. Invariably it is some guy with a commanding gravely voice, that commands respect. Hair does not come into the picture

when i make statements that these guys have succeeded despite their hair, and are bald billionaires. This is true, obviously, because they are what they are.

However , if guys on the board want to disagree with that premise, they should give a logical rebuttal, Much like I just did.

The major reason that I think you are saying that hair is important, is not that it is important necessarily in a general sense in society, but if it is important to YOU and YOUR SELF CONFIDENCE is improved with hair, then in your life it makes a huge difference.

Sometimes i think back when i first started thinning at 21 yrs old and I think yes i thought the exact same way, so i definitely know where guys are coming from , from the 20 something panic you experience from thinning .

Hangin: King of the Straw Men

Might I also add a comment that I heard on one of the videos.

It was a doctor that received a hair transplant and compared a nice head of hair to a balding man by using terms like "healthier looking"

I like that... Being someone ona very very strict regime of intense weightlifing and cardio.. I have to admit that nice hair does give an image of health..

Im not saying some some baling men in great shape dont give off a similar image.. however would I be off by saying that if two men, average shape, average build, identical in looks but one was balding and one wasnt, that one would be inclined to chose that one that wasnt?

I think that there are not that many men that would excude that confient, and health and string look while bald (its a hard look to pull off)

I mean I know some CA's that are overweight but they have this thick beautiful hair and i dunno, it works! Now i try to image him bald or balding and i dunno, it would just look "uncomfortable"

MJ2003;

Ummmmm....

Ugh...

I dunno what to say I mean, obviously looks and image matter a great deal, whoever says they dont is wrong. Ill give you a small example...

Before I got my transplant, I walked into a Mercedes Dealership (before I went bankrupt because of my parter taking out a mortage under my name) to look for my first ever Mercedes.

I was 25/26 at the time and I at the time had a 2003 VW Jetta Turbo, with all the trimmings, 17inch perfomace mags, leather, roof etc... Not bad for a kid out of university and still in debt with no mommy and daddy help mind you...

Obviously I walk in, no one pays me any minds because im young and in a 35000$ car what make them think i can afford a 75000$ car (i was looking at the ML 350). Long buying part made short.. I bought the truck with the manager because no one would serve me...

Fast forward to today... right before my transplant I was balding/thinning very much as you all saw... when i would get out of my car (which is now my second ML), people would treat me like its my moms or dads, No matter how i was dressed (even though youd figure that balding mean you are older somewhat lololol).

I get a transplant... and now even in my gym clothes sweating bullets, I get people in competing high end brand or even the same one asking me if I enjoy ownership of my vehicle...

Looks matter... At a younger age.. Looks greatly matter, positive and striong mindset GREATLY MATTER. I exude a confidence now that i didnt have 2 years ago but did have 6 years ago.

I know this story isnt 100% clear but if youd live in my before and after shoes youd understand...

Its not just the looks, its the feeling you have for yourself.. that x factor if you will.

The way you carry yourself... Because I can tell you this...

I am a highly educated man... a sales ANIMAL, i am told a fantastic producer, a honorable businessman and a man of respect, but what I feel like today.. the way that i present myself, ISNT IN THE SAME UNIVERSE as to where i was mentally and physically before my transplant.

But none of that matters as much as the way you carry yourself and respect yourself.. and for me... my inner strength comes from my outside... insult me (which Hangin will do inevitably) but we are all differernt. And in my youth, without millions (yet), thats whereI harness my strength.

When I get older, my looks wont be as important to me, because my strength and confidence will come from other places... Life experience, busienss experience, relationship expereicne, and the things taht are really important that make change... thats later, this is now...

Yes looks are important.. but its so much more...

Cheers

MJ2003;

I appreciate and respect your opinion...

However something doesnt seem right with him...

The red flag that went up ion my opinion was him stating that ARMANI DOESN NOT WARN his patients about the future....

I mean thats not a opinion but a closed statment.

Why? I mean thats plainly an attack on his business practice and not the results he gets...

Just my $0.02

Never Again...

Well said man...

I still cant figure out how 2000 grafts is aggressive either lol

We have already proved that the estimate of 2000 grafts being 30% of donor area is completely absurd hence no issues at all...

You mentioned it being FUE and not FUSS and that means no grafts needed to fill in the scar... on average how many grafts just to fill in a scar for a FUSS procedure of 2000 grafts?

@ HanginInThere

My Full Epic Story; 2 years & 2000 FUE Dr. Alvi Armani grafts later ... PART1

Hangin...

First off...

1) Cat got my tongue? LOLOLOL FAR FROM IT young man... Its funny how you have in the oast insulted people about having no lives and posting on here, and how you have a life, but yet you freak out when i didnt respond right away? Did u miss me? Its called that I dont post 3, 4 times a time. I post in the morning and MAYBE at night if the mood strikes me.

2) Dating card full????? Maybe... if I was a shallow, conceided A-Hole.... I have someone in my life who was there for me when I had absolutely nothing (in many more ways than one), and I have never at any point disrespected them by having a full dating card. I am a man of respect and honor.

3) Dude... theses links you kindly provided us still dont prove that you are NOT AN ARMANI HATER... I never at any point said that you had something against ME, but ARMANI... I mean the first link you provided you bash work of ARMANI LOLOLOLOLOL and the second was FAR FROM A TYPICAL HANGIN response....

I mean do you remember IN THIS THREAD when you said that Armani DOESNT ADVISE HIS PATIENTS of future needs and future transplants???? You see thats what I mean, Personal attacks... How do you come to these closed ended judgments on Armani? and WHY?

He does phenomial work... BEYOND top customer service, great employees, INCREDIBLE artist (in both the field of HT's and his photography), very charming man on a personal level, well articulated and marketed company, great company image and design...

What is it man?
Why do you dislike his person so much?
Why is it that I have yet to see you attack any other doctors person before? Or their ethics?

Once again bad experience?
Heard stuff?
If so from whom?

And of course....

AGAIN... WHY ARE YOU HERE!!!???

Are you looking for an HT?
Have you had one?
Getting one?
If so with who?

Why dont you contribute some positive things to this board and if you so wish to continue being negative and bitter that is your choice and I encourage it... But where is your credability? huh? Why are you credible? What is your motives for being here?

And once again man... "Be Cool!"

Cheers

Anyone who has had hair transplants before know that 2000 grafts to fix what he had lost is not aggressive. The best part is that this is FUE, it's not like he has to worry about saving his grafts to repair his strip scars in the future.

Sorry to respond twice Ernst LOL

But thank you kindly. Very much so... I am really happy to see that you and others have been able to relate to my story.

I just saw ur journal btw... Congrats man and all the best to you.. I see why you are happy with just the plain results let alone any other positive impact the HT and the Armani family did for your life.

No swelling???? Really???!!! Oh man that would of been great!!! lol (lucky!)

Obviously I agree with your agreement (lol) on shopping around and Im really appreciative that you and others took the time to read my story and pick apart certain things... It was a hell of a ride for my and im still feeling the positive effects 2 years later at only 27 years old.

NW5 to full head... the results speak volume man.... and it seems like you are bursting with happiness... Good for you man..

All the best to you and your family!

Cheers

MoM

Thanks Ernst...

I agree 100%, im NO WHERE NEAR PANIC Brother!!!

I feel the same way about the donor area... 30% is completely ludacris and no professional would agree to that...

Are your happy with ur HT man? Who did you do it with? Id love to see some pics (10 000 grafts thats mucst be awsome!)

Guys, you all know I bash Armani all the time, but I don't see how M.O.M's transplant in this thread is so horribly aggressive.

He's almost 28 years old now. He spent 2000 grafts to rebuild/reinforce a thick-looking NW#2 hairline. It's not a NW#1 or even a NW#1.5, it's a NW#2. Most of the hair on his head, even most of the thick-looking hair, is still his own hair that MPB has not taken yet. He's on meds now that are successfully slowing his loss.

David enjoys deleting my posts in the transplant forum
it is his hobby :-D

why he does this is a mystery
anyone can disagree on any forum for any reason

except the transplant forum
if you make a comment that could be construed as criticizing a doctor
david will delete it

you see
he believes in freedom of speech

but
you would have a hard time proving that statement
