Benji/Bryan: Any comments on Dut and memory loss (Topicals & Shampoos)
» While taking Dut, I've experienced noticeable difficulty recalling vocabulary, names of people, short-term events, etc.
» As I have an excellent, near-photographic memory, It is very, very obvious.
» I began taking Ambien at the same time I started Dut (which is when the
» memory loss began), but I've since gotten off that (going on 3 weeks) and
» the memory difficulty has worsened. As I don't take any other drugs
» besides ketoconazole (which I have been taking for years in the form of 2%
» Nizoral - a minor systematic dose) and minox (5% Rogain for years), am
» young and healthy and have no other symptoms, it could only be the Dut. As
» I understand it, one of the types of andros that Dut suppresses does exist
» in the brain, and as such could affect memory.
» fckhrls, I would really see a doctor if I were you. Ambien can severely
» damage one's thinking ability and erase TOTAL episodes from one's memory. I
» don't think 3 weeks is enough to think Ambien's side effects have worn off.
» Really see a doctor, I've heard monsterly bad stories about Ambien. There
» are many people who've been off for up to 8 months and still suffer from
» memory loss. No recollection of conversations, sex with their spouses,
» watching a movie, etc. I don't think dut is doing this to you.
»
» Look at this site, I hope it's enough for you to see a doctor about your
» symptoms..

Thanks for the info. Some have experienced memory issues while on Dut as well, and while there are no drug interaction warnings concerning both drugs (there is one for Ambien and Nizoral), perhaps the two together intensified the effect. I was taking a very strong dose (2x the recommended dose) for about 6 months, so it is quite possible that I am still experiencing sides from it. I did not, however, encounter the most common problem, which is sleep-walking. Other than the memory issue, it was very effective. Hopefully, things will improve over the next couple of weeks and I can rule out Dut as the cause, as I'd hate to have to stop taking it.
