Avodart (Dutasteride) Log - Update month 12 (considering 2.5mg) (Drugs & Medications)

posted by mj2003 E-mail, Toronto, 08.12.2009, 05:58

» »
» » 1mg of dut supresses pretty much the same amound of serum and scalp dht
» as
» » 0.5mg. No sense in upping the dose unless there will be a drastic
» » difference i suppose.
» »
» » "The results of the phase II trials did show that 2.5 mg of Avodart
» » gave nearly 2-3 times more hair growth than finasteride did at a full 5
» mg,
» » resulting even in frontal hair growth in some men. However, these
» superior
» » results were at a rather high 2.5mg dosage"

» » (http://www.hairloss*alk(dot)com/hair-loss-news/Article205.php ).
» »
» » 0.5mg Dutasteride inhibits ~ 92% serum DHT and 55% scalp DHT
» » 2.5mg Dutasteride inhibits ~ 95% serum DHT and 82% scalp DHT
» »
» » From reading the above I think there's a very huge difference in the
» » increase of scalp dht supression. That's where, in my opinion, the
» » difference in regrowth will lyes. And at the 2.5mg dose is where the
» » studies shown the best results and regrowth in their patients.
» »
» » I've read in many articles that the sides associated with dut go away
» with
» » continnued use. I knwo that from experience after noticing some sides,
» the
» » biggest being libido decrease, when taking dut, but they went away long
» » time ago. I hope the same will apply when i increase my dose to 2.5mg -
» if
» » sides are noticed they go away. After a yr or so dropping the dose back
» to
» » 0.5mg.
» » I'm not sure I'll do this yet. I'm going to wait to see if I get same
» » regrowth in my crown first. if not, i think i will increase (it will be
» » expensive).
» »
» » I use niz eod and started minox just now.
» It will be expensive, and I'd be wary of such a high dosage. Combining
» all three (niz, rogain) is suppose to amplify their affects, so I'd give
» that a shot first. You might want to try lysine as well, as there is some
» (slim) evidence that it enhances type I and II ARIs.

will do thanks. u don't condone to even a 1 yr increase of 2.5mg? i was thinking that 2.5mg for one yr will give me some further regrowth and then dropping it back down to 0.5mg ed i'll maintain the regrowth. the only concern i have is temporary brain foggyness or memory issues that'll affect my studies.

i'm going to look into lysine.
