Capri Clinic (Hair Transplant)

posted by Tzedaka, 07.08.2012, 12:25

This is my first post here and I was hoping to warn away anyone thinking about getting a transplant at the Capri Clinic that advertises cheap affordable implants in the tri-state area. I've had 2 procedures at the Capri Clinic and haven't been satisfied by either one. I was assured it would take no more than 2 procedures to accomplish the results I wanted. Instead all I've been left with is extremely thin hair and a scar that is extremely large and noticeable making it impossible for me to shave my head as I did in the past.

I'm writing this in the hopes of preventing others from making the same mistake I did. It's better to be able to just shave your head than look like a joke with obvious hair plugs. I've been so mortified I never remove my hat anymore since all it does is draw questions from people about the scar I have. The scar is about 1 inch thick from top to bottom and runs the length of my head from just in front of my ears all the way around. Their only suggestion when I tried confronting them was tattooing to some what hide the thin hair and scar at an extra cost to me no less. Basically saying I should pay for them not delivering their promise and their disfigurement of the back of my head. I now feel incredibly self conscious and it's affecting more of my life than I thought it would. So I advise anyone considering a hair transplant to be very sure they know what they're getting into. Don't let your insecurity rush you into a decision you'll regret even more.

To go in depth to the problems I had with the Capri Clinic I'll start with the procedure. I was told that the gentleman I met would be doing the procedure and instead woke up to find 2 young girls doing the procedure instead. I was in a fair amount of pain and asked for more pain killers to which I got the response we're almost finished try to hold on just a little longer. Almost finished turned into another 3 hours of listening to these girls talking to each other about who was cheating on who and who deserved it, in my opinion very unprofessional. Finally they finished and I went to the hotel to try to relax. My head how ever was in enough pain to make that impossible. I complained to Jerry about the treatment and he just told me don't worry all that suffering will be worth it. So despite my better judgement I tried to have faith in the procedure as I waited for my follow up appointment to remove the stitches.

The time came for them to be removed and immediately upon their removal I noticed the scar was no pencil thin line they had promised it would be, it was thick and obvious. I probably could have dealt with a thin line even one that was jagged and funny looking as I'd need very little hair to cover it up, but instead I had a 1 inch thick line going around my head. I told Jerry I was very upset with the scar, stating to him do you know how long the hair will have to be to cover the scar. He calmly suggested I get their tattoo service at an extra cost. I told him I was unhappy and that wasn't a suitable alternative to me to which I was dismissed and told to give it time perhaps the scar would shrink. Well I can tell you it's been months and it definitely has not shrunk, though luckily it hasn't gotten bigger(knock on wood). So despite numerous complaints and me trying to work things out with the Capri Clinic I've gotten no where.

My first attempt at getting my transplant fixed was turning to the doctor and asking him to make right what he did wrong and unfortunately my words fell on deaf ears. So I'm not writing this lightly and without even attempting to talk to the doctor giving more credence to my claim. Many people make complaints about such things and never even give the company they're complaining about the chance to make things right.I did and got nowhere proving just how little the Capri Clinic cares about their clients satisfaction.

I'm personally doing what I can to see if I can get some sort of justice and what recourse's are available to me. If I actually succeed in getting reimbursed I'll post again here so that hopefully others can also be educated in a working method of getting back their money for botched procedures.

Here are some pics of my scar and the new hair line they gave me. Two are from before the transplant and the rest are after. I tried loading the pics but after an hour of trying I gave up. It just kept saying loading and I made sure the pics met the size requirements so I don't know why they won't load. If anyone can help me get them up I'll gladly share the pics of what Capri calls a good hair transplant.
