OC000459 purchase (Hair Multiplication & Stem Cells Treatment)

So according to GangsterBoy on HLH, OC000459 will start shipping from a "trusted source" as of 10. September.

Hopefully some brave and - more importantly - rich pioneers will order and test this stuff. We might have an answer to this mystery pretty soon. This is some pretty exciting stuff in my opinion.

Where are you getting this from? Where has its safety profile as a topical been tested? What are the results. Please enlighten me.

Great! now I can treat my asthma if it ever comes back.
Other than that, who the hell cares?
Do you guys really think that a drug for asthma will be the cure for baldness?

lol? Is this a serious question?

Cots himself has said that asthma drugs are in clinical trails which work by inhibiting the same GPR44 receptors. This is exactly what we have been waiting for.

Do you really think that just because this is being used as an asthma treatment it can't work for hair loss? Minox was not originally licensed to treat hair loss either.

Do you seriously think that you know better than Dr. Cotsarelis and the rest of the scientific community propagating this breakthrough?

Or are you simply frantically looking for an excuse why you, the supposed "millionaire" cannot afford the 600e for PGD2?

so where exactly are the results for topical use? Which concentrations were tested? I dont see any link to that kind of information.

It does seem kind of sensible that hair loss could be kind of an immune/allergic reaction to androgen synthesis or to something else.

And I think that asthma is also kind of an immune/allergic thingy too.

I'm not sure but I do believe that I have read where some docs have said that hair loss is partly immune/allergy response.

You are either being intentionally antagonistic or are just completely thick. Prostaglandins are autocrine/paracrine molecules produced which perform a wide range of physiological functions. Just because OC000459 has been used in an attempt to improve asthma treatment does not mean that the same drug can't have a differing affect elsewhere. It is a GRP44 receptor antagonist meaning it could have a potential effect anywhere hat these receptors are present. Take paracetamol for example (or acetaminophen if you are american). It inhibits prostaglandins via inhibition of cyclooxygenase. If drugs only had a single function, explain systemic absorption of such a drug has analgesic, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory effects? I don't even know why I'm bothering to post this; you're clearly just ignorant. Ignorance can be excused, being an ignorant smart-ass however, cannot.

Ok everybody, since you're interested in my take on ocooo459 here it is:
it's an asthma medicine.
I don't know that it will do anything for hairloss.
I seriously doubt it for this reason: it's true minoxidil and finasteride have been discovered by accident to regrow hair. But pharmaceutical companies are not that thick, they don't have something potentially worth billions and don't investigate it.
That's why I'm skeptical this medicine will do anything if we buy it and put it on our bald heads: don't you think the makers already tried it?
And don't you think that in the most optimistic case, they noticed it somehow works and are now verifying the correct and best way to make it effective for baldness?

» it's an asthma medicine.
lol no its not just "an asthma medicine".. it's a GPR44 receptor blocker.. asthma is only ONE of the potential areas it could be used in... whats so hard to understand about that?

» companies are not that thick, they don't have something potentially worth
» billions and don't investigate it.
Who says they are not investigating? In fact it was all over the press that Cots and Big Pharma are currently in talks about getting this stuff marketed as a hair loss drug. They said it could be in shelves in as little as 2 years.. have you ever seen a drug pass FDA clearance within 2 years? It is obvious that they are aiming to utilize one of the GPR44 inhibitors which are currently already in trails. How else could they claim that it could be available in 2 years?

» That's why I'm skeptical this medicine will do anything if we buy it and
» put it on our bald heads: don't you think the makers already tried it?
I'm quite positive that they have tested it to some extent - why do you think they haven't?

» And don't you think that in the most optimistic case, they noticed it
» somehow works and are now verifying the correct and best way to make it

If it's true that GPR44 receptor inhibition is the key to hair loss, then its just a matter of making this stuff into a topical.. which is certainly no rocket science. Currently, the biggest and possibly only hurdle may be FDA clearance. Luckily theres china and blackmarket labs :D

I for one am quite optimistic about this and I hope for everyone else too, that we don't get disappointed again.

Here's a word to the wise, just in case this subject ever comes up again: minoxidil was in fact "discovered by accident" by its makers to grow hair, but not finasteride. Merck was very familiar with the potential of finasteride to grow hair, before it was ever given to a human being. It's obvious by looking at the scientific studies they did.
