When performed under the hands of a skilled surgeon, hair transplant surgery is one of the few hair restoration options that works really well. It can be a very effective treatment for some individuals and the results can sometimes rival what nature has given us.

The evolution of hair transplant has come a long way over the years. In the older days, people associate hair transplant with unsightly plugs or visible scars. Nowadays, hair transplant results have improved dramatically with the advance of new technologies and a new generation of highly trained competent physicians.

Another preconceived notion about hair transplant is that it is a very involved medical procedure that causes a tremendous amount of trauma to the patient, massive wounds, stitches, pain and extended healing time. While this may still be true depending on the technique the doctor uses and the skills of the doctor, this is no longer the only way experience that every patient is subject to when it comes to hair transplantation.

With the new and highly acclaimed FUE technique, hair transplantation experience can be a lot less traumatic and a lot more patient friendly than it used to.

FUE stands for Follicular Unit Extraction. It is vastly different from traditional strip technique in hair transplantation. Under strip technique, a large strip of skin is removed from the back of the patient's head during the donor follicles extraction process. The back of the patient's head is then sutured together which often results in a linear scar going across the back of the patient's head.  It is a very involved and traumatic process for the patient, healing time can last as long as 2-3 months or even longer before the patient can resume 100% of his normal day to day routines post op.

With FUE, the patient no longer has to go through the unpleasant experience associated with strip technique. FUE is commonly referred to as the patient friendly minimally invasive technique in hair transplantation. Instead of removing a large strip of skin from the patient's scalp during the donor extraction process, each donor follicle is meticulously extracted, micro-surgically, one at a time directly from the patient's scalp without having to inflict much damage or harm to the patient's scalp. There is no large visible linear scar after the procedure and healing time is many times faster than traditional strip technique.

In India, Dr. Sajal Halder is one of the few doctors who offer FUE hair transplant technique. His clinic is located in New Delhi. For more information, please fill out the feedback form below or go to www.Trichology.co
